GDC at the Winter Fair 2010

The Grassland Development Centre team on the IBERS stand at the 2010 Winter Fair, held at the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells on November 29th & 30. Among the topics featured was a new project looking at sheep systems - breed types and lambing date. Funded by WAG the SLP project is looking at ways of helping farmers to reduce costs and improve output.

It was an ideal opportunity to meet up with our development farmers and many other interested parties to continue to build awareness of the project and the importance of soil health.

During the show, visitors to the stand were invited to enter a competition to win a luxury hamper of Welsh produce. There was short quiz about a variety of objects to help with soil management. Many congratulations to our winner, Rhodri and Anwen Hughes of Llanarth who won the hamper with some excellent answers!
